Episode # 11 "Sleep Study" Of:

100_1543.jpg

AS THE TONSIL FALLS

I was scheduled to arrive at the sleep lab at 8pm. I worked until about 6pm, ate dinner, bummed around Las Colinas waiting until closer until the time I was supposed to report. Of course, about the time I finally went over to the hospital the storm ahead of the cold front blew in and managed to blow down trees, limbs, and ME.

As I was walking into the hospital, in the pouring sideways rain and blowing wind I fell in the parking lot. I twisted my right ankle, landed on my left knee and somehow caught the rest of my weight with my right hand. I arrived at the sleep lab, soaking wet and cold.

The nurse told me to dry off and put on my pajamas. I filled out a few more sets of paperwork and we discussed timing. Since on my normal schedule I am awake until at least midnight, we decided that I would bum around the room and watch movies until about 10:30 and then she would hook up all the monitors and stuff, and then I could return to the room and resume watching movies until I felt like I was able to go to sleep.

My DVD at home has decided to die on me and I had two movies from Netflix that I hadn't been able to watch, so I brought them to keep me occupied during the time I was awake. I watched two without a doubt, teeny-bopper chick-flicks: Legally Blonde 2: Red, White & Blonde, and 13 going on 30.

My knee was hurting the entire evening. Every time I rolled over and my knee even came near touching the bed pain just shot up through my body and I cringed. About 10:30 the nurse came in to put the monitors on me... all over me... including in my hair...eeewww.

I slept awful! I didn't feel like I had slept at all when the morning nurse came in to wake me up the next morning about 7:30ish. I told her I didn't have to be at work until 11am and to let me go back to sleep. I don't know if they turned off the computers or not, but I actually slept the next two hours. I took a shower and went to work.

Once at work, the internet was being a pain in the butt and my knee was still hurting me like crazy. It's now 8pm and my arm & shoulder have started to hurt also. I'm sure its from the fall last night. I'm having trouble taking off my own bra, my arm just doesn't want to rotate backwards like that. I'm going to take an extra one of my muscle relaxers and go to bed.

Withdrawal

withdrawal2.jpg

I stayed at work until about 6 pm last night. The internet had gone down at about 5:25. I drove around Irving, wasting time, for about two hours until it was time for me to report to the Sleep Study lab. This wasting time included, filling up with gas, eating dinner at Mi Cocina, shopping at Bath & Body Works, getting a cup of ice cream at Marble Slab, and attempting to get my car inspected (but the inspectors had left early). The storm before the cold-front got there about 10 minutes before I did. It was raining sideways and the wind was blowing like crazy. I pulled under the covered breezeway and unloaded my suitcase into the lobby and then went to go park my car.

I twisted my ankle in the parking lot walking in the wind and rain into the hospital and fell and landed on my left knee. It hurt pretty bad but it didn't bleed so I got up and went on in to the Sleep Lab. I changed into my pajamas and got comfortable and got out my handheld computer and desperately searched for a wireless internet connection. W?T?H? NO INTERNET? ALL NIGHT LONG? You're KIDDING RIGHT?

So, instead of spending a normal night on the internet I watched two movies and then went to sleep. More later about the sleep test in another post.

I didn't get to work until about 11:10am. Our internet was up and running but that only lasted until about 1:25 when it decided to go down for about an hour. This internet going up and down thing is driving me literally insane and is seriously not helping my severe case of Withdrawal from last night At All.

Indecision

indecision.jpg

Tonight I won't be going home. I will be spending the night at the hospital hooked up to all kinds of wires and equipment while they monitor every thing my body does while I sleep. Or, more correctly they are going to see how my mind keeps running in circles while my body stays in one position until it goes numb, and then I have to wake up and turn over, wait for whichever body part was numb to calm down and then attempt to get my entire body back into a comfortable position while my Obsessive Complusive Disorder frantically tries to remember which circle it was running around when it was so rudely interrupted by the numb body part.

With gasoline back up to $3.00 a gallon, I packed my suitcase and decided to just stay at work until time to go get dinner and then to the hospital at 8pm. Since I will be at work pretty much all day, I did something I almost never do. Just before 1pm, I left for lunch, and I took an ENTIRE hour break. I decided I wanted something "different" for lunch today. And let me tell you... Different is what I got.

I ended up at Tabla Indian Bistro in Irving. I have had Indian food before, but I didn't recognize anything on this buffet spread. I moved the serving utensils around in a few of the dishes before deciding which to try. There were a few things I put on my plate and don't get me wrong... it wasn't horrible by any means. It was just different. I ate enough to stop the signals being sent from my stomach to my brain signalling hunger, which is supposed to be the purpose in the first place, right?

But, here it is... 2:54pm. I've been back at my desk for exactly an hour. And I still can't decide... if I liked it or not. I wanted something different for lunch. Mission Accomplished.

I'm thinking I'll stick to something I know for dinner.

The Funniest Show On TV - YALL AREN'T WATCHING

http://www.cbs.com/primetime/two_and_a_half_men/Ok. I read all of your blogs. You watch Lost, Gilmore Girls, Desperate Housewives, Survivor, The Amazing Race, Big Brother... all those shows I don't know anything about. You devote three page long blog posts to what happened last night on these shows, who slept with who, who got kicked off, etc.

Well. I watch TV for a completely different reason. I watch TV to laugh. And laugh is what I did last night. Deep down, rolling on the floor, started seeing floaty little paisley things in my vision and my arms went numb LAUGHTER. My next door neighbor came home from eating dinner with his daughter and said he could hear me laughing in the parking lot. And it wasn't just last night's show.. it is every single episode.

So, what is this 30-minutes of solid hillarity that apparently I am the only one watching (since they didn't get nominated for anything at the Emmy's)?

SPF - Pictures, Calls & Mistakes

SPFridays.jpg
Kristine's Game

Well, over there at Random and Odd, where they pass out our weekly assignments for Stuff Portrait Fridays, I think I'm fixing to fail because I always turn in my posts at least a day or two late... and sometimes even a week or two late.

This week (as in, yesterday)... we were supposed to post pictures of our camera, our cell phone and something that we purchased that ended up not being the *prize* we thought it was going to be when we were shelling out the money for it.

First, my Camera. It's a Kodak EasyShare LS443 and Dock. I got it for Christmas 2002. It takes pretty good pictures, I'm just not that good of a photographer. Luckily, I taught Photoshop for one year and learned some neat tricks to cover up my inadequacies.

camera1.jpg

Next, my cellphone. Its an LG VX 3200 and I didn't know it until I just googled it but this model has since been discontinued by Verizon Wireless. Man, that's comforting. Anyway. I like my phone, I just wish it took pictures so that I could offer you some more colorful commentary on some of the most complacent and annoying drivers in the world... those known as Dallas Drivers.

cellphone.jpg

And lastly, that purchase that bombed. This steamer I ordered thru Fingerhut back before they declared bankruptcy and quit mailing out catalogs. My aunt had a steamer and used it all the time. I hate to iron and I thought it would be a great thing to have. Once I got it home I realized that I had made a mistake. It takes forever to get hot and it really doesn't get the wrinkles out of clothes.

Migraine-Induced Cyclops Syndrome

migraine.jpgcyclops.jpg

Tuesday I had a serious case of MICS. I woke up, called in sick, called and rescheduled my neuromuscular exam (doctors appointment #1.2b)and went straight back to sleep. I slept until about 10:45 and then I took another nap from about 1:30 - 4:30pm.

Then I got up, took a shower and got ready to go to school. My next door neighbor drove me to my final exam at 6pm for my computer class. I didn't feel like I should be driving as many drugs as I had taken and I still couldn't see out of my left eye.

As soon as my exam was over, we came back to my apartment and then I went back to sleep and then next thing I knew... it was Wednesday.

My Birthday Shopping Trip - A Month Late

supertarget.jpg

Ok. I haven't been grocery shopping since the last week of July. I am officially out of everything. And I had decided what I wanted for my birthday.

100_1231.jpg

I found the bedspread that I wanted to replace the Teddybear Stuff and I wanted to look and see if I could find anything at SuperTarget to replace all of the stuff in the bathroom too.

100_1228.jpg

I ordered the new bedspread but it is on backorder until the end of October or early November. So, instead I'll just show you the picture of it from off of the website.

JordanBedspread.jpg

So, while at SuperTarget today, while stocking up on everything in the world because I was out of everything, and I mean EVERYTHING... I found my new bathroom set and here it is.

PurpleRain.jpg

So, there is my birthday present to myself. If only the bedspread would hurry up and come in. Next I just need to find new couch covers and I will be on my way on my redecorating mission.

Down Down Down Under

mangrovejack.jpghaagenlager.jpg

After the majority of my beverage class took our grades from down to Down Down Under.. we had one last (and not originally scheduled) tasting of Austailan Wine, Beer & Vodka.

I wasn't in the mood to drink and I used all of the Drugs I am on as an excuse not to participate in the tasting.

After watching the faces of most of my classmates... I'm glad I wasn't pouring this stuff down the hatch.

Yes, I'm still here. I know I haven't posted since last Wednesday and I have a lot to catch up on because I haven't even really been reading what you all have been posting since then either. I had to get caught up on all my homework and school projects and Finals start TODAY.

The only final exam that I really felt like I had to study for and the BIG project are both due this evening, so I should be back, free & clear to catch on my posting and reading blog world tomorrow.

Until then... I'll be... Staying Alive.

Dumb People

Dumb%20People.jpg

There is a lovely piece of software on my computer at work that I have never had the opportunity to use because they wont give you a login and password until you complete a training course. I have been working at my glorious place of employment for close to five months and today was the first time they had offered a training class. I was told by the guy who hired me to register for this class when they announced it back in June.

The class was from 1pm - 4pm and it was upstairs in one of the meeting rooms. After about 50 minutes, the other people enrolled in the class asked for a break to go get coffee and snacks. Apparently they couldn't stay awake with the lights off (so that the powerpoint was easier to see.) The person teaching the class gave us a twenty minute break so I returned to my desk. I think I have mentioned that the way my desk is situated in the office, that I could literally die at my desk and no one would know until my decomposing body started stinking.

Apparently I must have been really quiet returning to my desk because the aforementioned and nicknamed "ExcelLady" who exhibits about the same personality as Katrina & Rita was down the side hallway running her mouth to just about anyone who would listen. And guess who she was talking about? You guessed it! ME! What was she saying?

"I don't know why she's taking that class, it's not like she is ever going to use that software. And when you don't use the software, they take it away from you. She must have had to BEG him to let her enroll in the class, she has no business wasting the company's time and money in there. She's too dumb to learn that software in the first place."

****NEWSFLASH****
In case those of you in the blog world didn't realize this:

  • I have a degree in computer science.
  • I taught high school computer science for three years.
  • I taught Microsoft Office in high schools for three years.
  • I taught Microsoft Office in industry for a year and a half.
  • I have passed (with flying colors) the Microsoft Office User Suite Exams.
Now, had the company sent me to a class on learning a book of poetry, I would have completely and totally agreed with "ExcelLady," and I'm not being arrogant or rude.. but I am a computer software geek. There isn't any software out there that you cant put in front of my face with a book or a training class that I can't learn.

So what did I do? I sat there. Quietly at my desk until I was sure that the "ExcelLady" was back in her office. Then I walked back upstairs to the training class. The way the office is designed I can not go anywhere without passing her office. As I walked past her office she was on her way back out again. I didn't look at her (cause if I had I probably would have gone off), I just kept on walking. But I did see her out of the corner of my eye. She looked startled and almost jumped back... like she didn't know I was down there...

Apparently, while I was upstairs learning how to use this amazingly "hard" software with ease, she also took out some frustrations on another employee that works in our building. This time someone in the higher-up offices heard about it and I'm told called the "ExcelLady" into their office for a little chat. She has pretty much ignored me since then and I hope it stays that way.

Episode # 10 "Blood Work Results" Of:

bloodwork.jpg

AS THE TONSIL FALLS

Well, if you recall back in Episode #8 (09/06/05) I went to visit "TheDrugDealer" and they drew six things of blood out of my right arm. They called me today with the results. They said that I had Anaemia due to a Folic Acid (B9)and B12 Deficiency. I looked up both of those vitamins and what I needed to eat to fix the deficiency.

The list for B12 consisted of :

  • Fish
  • Liver
  • Pork
  • Milk
  • Cheese

YUM, YUM, YUM, YUM, & YUM.

The list for B9 consisted of :

  • Carrots
  • Yeast
  • Liver
  • Egg Yolks
  • Melons
  • Apricots
  • Pumpkin
  • Avacado
  • Beans
  • Rye & Whole Weat
  • Green Leafy Vegetables

YUCK, EH, YUM, BLECH, YUM, YUM, NOT IN SEASON, FOODGASUM, YUM, EH, EH.

So, I left work, went to class, went home, changed clothes and then went and had a Prime Rib, Baked Sweet Potato, Ceasar Salad, Rye Bread & Coconut Shrimp at Outback Steakhouse.

outback.jpg

That at least took care of the Fish, Beef, Cheese, Yeast, Egg Yolks, Rye Green Leafy Vegetables off of that list. I can't afford to eat like that every night so I guess I'm going to have to go buy some B12 and Folic Acid pills to swallow.

Episode # 9b "Scheduling" Of:

estemmachine.jpg

AS THE TONSIL FALLS

The e-stem treatments are just those little electrode sticky things they put on you and you sit there and be "shocked" for about an hour. I'm supposed to go twice a week. Until the next school quarter starts I'm going to go at noon on Mondays and Fridays and then I will move it to Wednesdays and Fridays.

The first day was a complete and total waste of time. The person who hooked me up was under the impression that I was there for migraines, not for the true reason of this angle of my treatment which is to combat the stiff neck, muscle spasms, numbness and tingling in my extremities.

Apparently they dont turn the electrodes up very high for migraine patients. The next time I went I mentioned what a waste of time the first hour was sitting there and they cranked me up a few notches where I could feel it. These treatments are much better now.

Well, we have made it to the last week of the quarter.. that is until final exams next week. This week we covered Sherry, Port & Dessert Wines.

We tasted a 2003 Sandeman Don Fino Superior Fino Sherry, Fonseca Porto Bin No 27, Taylor Fladgate 10 Year Old Tawny Porto & last but not least, Marco Negri Moscato d'Asti 2003 DOCG, by far the absolute best thing we have tasted in the entire 10 weeks of this class.

Next week is final exams and then I have a week off. I'm ready for a break. Gotta go work on homework. Night All.

What A Day For A Bad Breaker Box

HHSlogo.gifexpansive_shot_edit_flags2.jpgHHSlogo.gif
Hightower Hurricanes. A Category 5 Storm.

September 11, 2001 7:45 am. Central Standard Time

I arrived at L.V. Hightower High School after my 56-mile one-way drive to work. I walked in and noticed that all of the electricity was off. All of the 2,000-some-odd students were all corralled in either the gym or the cafeteria. This reveals the genius of school districts these days. At this point, Hightower was only three years old and neither the school district nor the architects had enough forsight to build a single room that could contain the entire student body. I had also been told that the floor plan of this school was the same as two other schools in our district and a few other schools in neighboring districts.

I some how made it thru the herd and found one of the principals. They said there was something wrong with the main electrical breaker and they didn't know how long the electricity was going to be out, but we weren't going to allow the students out of the two main areas until we had electricity. I went to my room, put down my bag full of papers and and locked up my purse. I locked my room back and went back to the fun duty of crowd control.

About 8:45 the electricity came back on and they finally opened the gates and allowed the teachers and students to go to their respective classrooms. Our school had what was known as Academies, that offered specialized courses in Computers, Medicine, Engineering, and Broadcasting. The daily school announcements were given on our own tv station, in a news format. The televisions were set to come on automatically everyday at the same time. Our broadcasting students were also a part of CNN's Student Bureau.

About the time we were walking into the classroom, the tv came on... but it wasn't on our station... I noticed the stations were being flipped like a man had the remote. All of a sudden it stopped on CNN just in time to show a replay of the plane flying into the first tower. The students were loud and rowdy as they had been cooped up in a dark hot cafeteria or gymnasium for an hour or so. I'm not sure what I did... I think I just stood there, staring at the television and eventually they got quiet as they noticed what I was watching. Then they showed the second plane fly into the second tower. I remember sitting down, right there, in the middle of the floor... indian style, my chin in my hands, never taking my eyes off the TV.

Then... the most inconvienent thing in the world happened. Apparently they hadn't fixed the main breaker and the electricity went off again. My students started crying and screaming. Screaming... "We're Gonna Die." I wasn't sure they weren't right. The electricity was off for about 5 minutes. When it came back on the head principal came on the PA system and made an announcement although I have no clue what she said.

The electricity continued to go off and on throughout the rest of the day. No teaching took place that day. Students moved from classroom to classroom when the bells rang only to sit back down and watch the TV. Parents started picking up students early and by 4th period, the end of the day... there wasn't hardly anyone left at the school. Then the head principal made another announcement. She said for all the teachers to go home. No meetings, no practices, no staying to grade papers... GO HOME.

A friend of mine, CN, decided she wanted to go home with me. She lived only minutes from the school and we weren't that far from the Ship Channel. Houston, we believed, could have been another target, as that is one of the major ports where many of our daily necessities are brought into this nation on a daily basis. Granted, I only lived 56 miles away.. but it was far enough to make us feel a little better.

We drove out to my house in Smalltown, Texas and did the only thing we could think of. We mowed my yard, drank beer and cooked everything we could find in my kitchen.

After that school year, I quit teaching and moved to TheArmPitOfHell and CN moved to Louisiana. I have contacted a mutal friend and no one has heard from CN since Katrina hit the area. 9/11 is a day I will never forget and the events that I am reminded of from four-years ago makes it that much harder to realize that we don't know where or how to get a hold of CN. If you see this CN, get in touch with us... we love you!

Today I went to a Pampered Chef party hosted by Kami of TheDallasKs fame. Um, Just A Minute... I Can't Wake Up

I went to Walgreens after class Tuesday night and sat in the drive-thru for over an hour. I am switching all of my prescriptions over to CVS after this incident. I have had just about enough of Walgreens as I can take. They send you emails and tell you that your prescriptions are ready and you get there and they aren't. You set up automatic refills for the 6th of the month, they get them ready on the 30th of the previous month and return them to stock before you actually come to get them on the 6th. They tell you your prescriptions will be ready at a certain time and then they fill every other prescription that comes in after you and you end up sitting there with your engine idleling on $3.05/gallon gas while they get to yours.

Tuesday I dropped off my new prescriptions from "TheDrugDealer" and told them that I needed all of them (5) filled except for the Relpax, as that was just a new prescription (aka, more refills) for a drug I was already taking and had just refilled last week, plus the prescription on the "automatic refill is ready" email from that morning. I drove up and they told me it would be a few minutes. Granted it was 8:40 and they had told me 8:45 so I wasn't ticked off, yet.

At 9:05 the Pharmacist came over to the window and asked me if I wanted the Medrol, as my chart showed me allergic to cortizone and cortizone steroid packs, that I would most likely have a reaction to it too. I said no, that's ok, I'll call the doctor and tell them I'm not going to take that one. So then the cashier said it would be $20.00. To which my response was, "for 4 prescriptions?" They said "no, you only had one."

high%20bp.jpg

"Um, NO!" "I brought you two sheets of paper, that had 5 prescriptions on them. I said I needed all of them except for the Relpax. Plus I said I needed the one that was ready, according to the email that YOUR computer system sent to me today. Minus the one the pharmacist and I just decided that I didn't need to take due to allergies. That would leave 4 prescriptions."

"Um, Just a Minute." This was at 9:15.

9:16 9:17 9:18 9:19 9:20 9:21 9:22 9:23 9:24 9:25 9:26 9:27 9:28 9:29 9:30 9:31 9:32 9:33 9:34 9:35 9:36 9:37 9:38 9:39 9:40 9:41 9:42 9:43 9:44 9:45 9:46 9:47

9:48. "Ok, the manager discounted one of your prescriptions. That will be $50.00." They open the drawer and hand me the sack. I count them. Guess how many were in sack. Go ahead Guess. 4? WRONG! There was three in the sack. *HONK HONK HONK* "Yes, can I help you?" Um, where is the other prescription? Um, you said you didn't want it. No that would have been the 5th prescription, I'm asking about the 4th one, the one that your computer sent me an email this morning telling me it was ready. Hmmm, Just a minute.

9:52 9:53 9:54. "Um, oh, that prescription isn't ready because your insurance wont cover it until September 14th." Then why on this MudBall Called Earth did yall email me and tell me it was READY? "Um, I don't know."

I finally get home a little after 10, find my little pill box so I dont have to lug around the bottles all day for the pills I'm supposed to take more than once a day and I take all of those pills about 10:30 Tuesday night. The next thing I know my mother is calling me asking where I was. I said in bed, duh! It was then that she informs me that it was 8:12 in the morning and I was supposed to be at work at 8:30. Well damn.

Jump up, Hair in Ponytail, Brush Teeth, Put on Clothes, Leave. Work at 8:51. Whew.

Leave for lunch at 12:26. Meet a friend at Cheddar's. Take 2nd dose of pills and eat. Go back to work.

2:30. Can't keep my eyes OPEN. Decide to take a break. Put cell phone on vibrate, set alarm clock for 10 minutes, prop leg up on cart under desk, close eyes. Phone vibrates in hand, hit snooze. Phone vibrates in hand, hit snooze. Phone vibrates in hand, hit snooze. Phone vibrates in hand, hit snooze. Phone vibrates in hand, hit snooze. Phone vibrates in hand, hit snooze. Phone vibrates in hand, hit snooze. Phone vibrates in hand, hit snooze. Phone vibrates in hand, hit snooze. Phone vibrates in hand, hit snooze. Phone vibrates in hand, hit snooze. Phone vibrates in hand, hit snooze. Phone vibrates in hand, hit snooze. Phone vibrates in hand, hit snooze. Phone vibrates in hand, hit snooze. Phone vibrates in hand, hit snooze. Phone vibrates in hand, hit snooze. Phone vibrates in hand, hit snooze.

4:00 Decide I have to try to stay awake until I can leave at 5:30. If I had work to do maybe I wouldn't be this tired. Get an email that class was cancelled for the evening. Leave work at 5:30.

Home at 6:05. Check mail for the first time in two weeks. Reheat leftovers from El Chico from Monday night. Eat dinner. Lay down on Couch. Fall asleep. Answer a few phone calls, although I dont remember who from. Move from couch to bed about 2am.

6:10 am. Mom calls to make sure I'm awake. No dice. Beg for 10 more minutes. 6:20 am. Mom calls back. DAMN. Get ready and leave for work.

Sit at work and freeze (daily occurance). Break down and go get coffee to warm up. Still tired and could still go to sleep if I closed my eyes for more than 15 seconds.

Episode # 8 "Drugs" Of:

AS THE TONSIL FALLS

#1 Tuesday, Sept 6 at 8:30 (New) Neurologist #2 From now on will be referred to as "TheDrugDealer."

This morning I had my appointment with "TheDrugDealer." She said "TheCuteOne" had called her last week to talk about my case and she wanted to hear the entire story from me. She asked about the numbness, the headaches (migraines for lack of a better word), visual and audio disturbances. She listened to my heart, hit me with that reflex thingy, poked me with a thumbtack, had me follow her finger, and then sent me down the hall where they took SIX vials of blood.

She also sent me home with a new prescription for Relpax and added four new drugs to the concoction that I was already taking. The original cocktail included: Aviane for Hormones, Lexapro for Anti-Anxiety, Nadolol (given to me by "TheBrickWall") a beta-blocker/Migraine Preventation, and Relpax for Migraine Pain Relief.

To this mix we are going to add: Topamax (Anti-Seizure/Migraine prevention), Naprosyn (Anti-Inflamatory) for muscle spasms, Flexeril a muscle relaxant, and Medrol (Anti-Inflamatory) also for muscle spasms and numbness.

I'm not sure what all they plan on doing with the 6 tubes of blood, but that was at 10:15 this morning and I'm still dizzy and lightheaded. I am scheduled to go back to have a peripheral nerve test (electrodes and needles) in two weeks. They are also supposed to call and set up appointments for a one-night sleep study and e-stem treatments. Its a good thing that this new doctor is just minutes from work with this many new appointments.

Episode # 7 "Borderline" Of:

AS THE TONSIL FALLS

mri2.jpg

#2.2 Thursday, Sept 1 at 3:15 Follow Up with "TheAccentMan"

Well, yesterday we went to my follow up appointment with "TheAccentMan." He said that the reason he wanted to see the MRI of my brain was because with the C-Spine MRI that he couldn't really tell exactly how far my tonsils had fallen. With the brain MRI it was clear as day. It has fallen down and is touching the top of my C1 vertebra.

He told us that he usually does surgery when the tonsil has fallen past C1, but since mine was just touching, and I was still able to work and go to school that my symptoms were borderline and not bad enough for surgery. "TheAccentMan" reinforced that it was an easy surgery for him but would be immensely painful for me. He also suggested follow-up MRIs in a year to see if the tonsil had fallen anymore.

I am slightly comfortable that both neurosurgeons that I have agreed that I'm not bad enough for surgery. I am, still a little concerned about how "borderline" or "not bad enough" my symptoms are because they feel a lot more than Borderline to me. I am going to see a new neurologist on Tuesday. I am going to be open to what she has to say and she if there is any thing we can do to make me feel better. I'm tired of feeling like crap. I plan on trying to give her 6 months to work with me and for me to see some sort of improvement. If not, I have not completely ruled out the surgery route.

On that note, I have heard people in my support group say that you can send your MRI films to the specialists at the Chiari Institute and that they would review your films (for free) and tell you if they can help you or if its even worth it before you spend the money and time to hop on Amtrak and spend 49 hours traveling to Great Neck, New York for a consultation.

I don't know exactly how Blogger managed to do this, but it just replaced Episode # 6 with Episode #7 and deleted the old one. Ugh. Now I gotta see if I can remember the stoke of genius that I posted back on August 27th.

Happy Birthday Jace!

Picture_0046.jpg

Today is my cousin Jace's 22nd birthday. This is the cousin who started stealing my olives before he was a year old. At 10 years old, there weren't many people in this world that I would have allowed to get away with such an infraction... but for him, I let him slide.

Since I moved to Dallas and he moved to college, I don't get to see him much, and I miss him.

I Love You Jace!
