Episode # 11 "Sleep Study" Of:

AS THE TONSIL FALLS

I was scheduled to arrive at the sleep lab at 8pm. I worked until about 6pm, ate dinner, bummed around Las Colinas waiting until closer until the time I was supposed to report. Of course, about the time I finally went over to the hospital the storm ahead of the cold front blew in and managed to blow down trees, limbs, and ME.

As I was walking into the hospital, in the pouring sideways rain and blowing wind I fell in the parking lot. I twisted my right ankle, landed on my left knee and somehow caught the rest of my weight with my right hand. I arrived at the sleep lab, soaking wet and cold.

The nurse told me to dry off and put on my pajamas. I filled out a few more sets of paperwork and we discussed timing. Since on my normal schedule I am awake until at least midnight, we decided that I would bum around the room and watch movies until about 10:30 and then she would hook up all the monitors and stuff, and then I could return to the room and resume watching movies until I felt like I was able to go to sleep.

My DVD at home has decided to die on me and I had two movies from Netflix that I hadn't been able to watch, so I brought them to keep me occupied during the time I was awake. I watched two without a doubt, teeny-bopper chick-flicks: Legally Blonde 2: Red, White & Blonde, and 13 going on 30.

My knee was hurting the entire evening. Every time I rolled over and my knee even came near touching the bed pain just shot up through my body and I cringed. About 10:30 the nurse came in to put the monitors on me... all over me... including in my hair...eeewww.

I slept awful! I didn't feel like I had slept at all when the morning nurse came in to wake me up the next morning about 7:30ish. I told her I didn't have to be at work until 11am and to let me go back to sleep. I don't know if they turned off the computers or not, but I actually slept the next two hours. I took a shower and went to work.

Once at work, the internet was being a pain in the butt and my knee was still hurting me like crazy. It's now 8pm and my arm & shoulder have started to hurt also. I'm sure its from the fall last night. I'm having trouble taking off my own bra, my arm just doesn't want to rotate backwards like that. I'm going to take an extra one of my muscle relaxers and go to bed.
