Dumb People

There is a lovely piece of software on my computer at work that I have never had the opportunity to use because they wont give you a login and password until you complete a training course. I have been working at my glorious place of employment for close to five months and today was the first time they had offered a training class. I was told by the guy who hired me to register for this class when they announced it back in June.
The class was from 1pm - 4pm and it was upstairs in one of the meeting rooms. After about 50 minutes, the other people enrolled in the class asked for a break to go get coffee and snacks. Apparently they couldn't stay awake with the lights off (so that the powerpoint was easier to see.) The person teaching the class gave us a twenty minute break so I returned to my desk. I think I have mentioned that the way my desk is situated in the office, that I could literally die at my desk and no one would know until my decomposing body started stinking.
Apparently I must have been really quiet returning to my desk because the aforementioned and nicknamed "ExcelLady" who exhibits about the same personality as Katrina & Rita was down the side hallway running her mouth to just about anyone who would listen. And guess who she was talking about? You guessed it! ME! What was she saying?
"I don't know why she's taking that class, it's not like she is ever going to use that software. And when you don't use the software, they take it away from you. She must have had to BEG him to let her enroll in the class, she has no business wasting the company's time and money in there. She's too dumb to learn that software in the first place."
****NEWSFLASH****
In case those of you in the blog world didn't realize this:
- I have a degree in computer science.
- I taught high school computer science for three years.
- I taught Microsoft Office in high schools for three years.
- I taught Microsoft Office in industry for a year and a half.
- I have passed (with flying colors) the Microsoft Office User Suite Exams.
So what did I do? I sat there. Quietly at my desk until I was sure that the "ExcelLady" was back in her office. Then I walked back upstairs to the training class. The way the office is designed I can not go anywhere without passing her office. As I walked past her office she was on her way back out again. I didn't look at her (cause if I had I probably would have gone off), I just kept on walking. But I did see her out of the corner of my eye. She looked startled and almost jumped back... like she didn't know I was down there...
Apparently, while I was upstairs learning how to use this amazingly "hard" software with ease, she also took out some frustrations on another employee that works in our building. This time someone in the higher-up offices heard about it and I'm told called the "ExcelLady" into their office for a little chat. She has pretty much ignored me since then and I hope it stays that way.

What a fricking bitch! Seriously, I do not understand some people. I know it has
to do with their insecurities and issues, but it doesn't make it any easier to
understand how someone can be so bitter and spiteful. I want to feel sorry for
people like that, but I have a hard time seeing past their hollow shell of an
exterior.
