I'm Still Here

About 4pm yesterday I received an email asking if I was still alive. Saying that 6 days without a post must be a record for me.
So, I thought I better jump in here and say that I'm still kicking.
It has been a very long and winding road full of many many minutes sitting behind the steering wheel of my car.
Last Thursday night, MRF met me at my apartment and we went to eat dinner and loaded up my car with all of the stuff in my apartment that would be taking up residence at my parent's house.
The next day I called the storage shed to find out when they would be open to do paperwork and they said they would only be there on Saturday. So instead of leaving straight for my parent's house, I went to TheCountry, spent the night and then MRF went with me on Saturday to fill out the paperwork for the storage shed and then on to my parents house. We had a nice visit with my parents and grandparents and came back up to TheCountry on Sunday.
Monday, we loaded up my car with a load of stuff and took it to the storage shed, and then went back and loaded the car again with stuff and took it home. Monday night, my computer and my clothes officially moved to TheCountry.
I'm not completely moved out of my apartment yet, the movers are coming Saturday the 10th. After I get my deposit back I will delve into the bassakward ways of Barbie & Ken (my landlords) and why I am so glad to be out of there.
Tuesday morning was my first morning to experience the pleasure of driving to work from TheCountry in morning Dallas traffic. It wasn't too bad. I didn't go very early because instead of going to work I had an extra 30 minutes to get to the doctor's office. I got to my old apartment in time to pick up my MRIs that I had forgotten and pack a couple of boxes.
I visited with the HeadacheGuru's assistant for about 20 minutes. She told me that my new MRI from a couple of weeks ago had shown that my cerebellar tonsils had fallen another 2mm. She was going to send my old MRIs back to the neurologic radiologist and have them compare them some more.
We decided to continue the Zonegran and Namenda and we are changing my Lexapro to Cymbalta. She said the Lexapro could possibly be helping to keep the weight on me. I have been stuck at a plateau on the weight loss scene for a couple of weeks.
She also wants to send me to another sleep study. The first one showed obstructive sleep apnea, but "TheDrugDealer" never did anything about it so they want to re-test for that. I'm guessing that they will probably be calling to reschedule my nerve conduction study too.
One day last week when I was unable to continue with work due to computer problems, I set up a spreadsheet with all the $ that I have been charged or that I have spent that is in direct relation to "TheDrugDealer." The mileage between work and all my doctors appointments, my prescriptions, my co-pays, the 128.75 missed hours of work, the entire quarter of culinary school tution that I lost after having to leave school... unable to function on all the drugs.
Also included in this figure is my moving expenses (last December), my rent (December - June) and utilities. While in school I was living in "DaGhetto" which was considered student housing. My rent, utilities, etc., were all paid by student loans. When I had to drop out of school, I had to move... and I had to come up with money for rent and utilities on a monthly basis.
I took all this dollar figure (over $16,000) and my medical records to my mother and she is looking into seeing if we have a malpractice case. The fact that she had me on 17 medications at the same time should be enough to hear a resounding YES!
Traffic driving to work yesterday was about the same as it was on Tuesday, even though I left home about 25 minutes later. Today, I left 34 minutes earlier than I did on Wednesday (9 minutes earlier than Tuesday)... and today I did NOT stop at Starbucks... and I only got to work 12 minutes earlier. Traffic today SUCKED! I swear Dallas people can't drive worth shit, especially when it rains. What really ticks me off is you will have a cluster of cars and then a gap where there is no one for like 1/2 a mile. What the hell is that car in the front doing? NO GAPS PEOPLE!
Still complaining when I got to work, H said "well those people at the front of the cluster didn't know you were in a hurry." True. I completely agree with that. Because in order for them to know that I was in a hurry... they would have to come to the realization that they aren't :
The Only Freaking Person On The Road!
On the work front, H and I are still waiting for our reviews that we thought we were supposed to have two weeks ago. I started working on contracts yesterday that have end dates of 12/02/2006. How is it possible that I am already seeing DECEMBER? This year has gone way too freaking fast.
Tonight, MRF is meeting me at my old apartment and we are going to make a mad rush to try to finish packing up my stuff. I really do not want to have to worry about packing a little every night after work next week.
I hate that we had such a good assignment for WBW this week, but my scanner and pictures are all packed. I will try not to be such a stranger, but until the move is officially over on June 12th, I may be hiding under the umbrella.

I feel your pain on the moving and packing. It really sucks. Glad to hear that the drive isn't too bad though.

17 medications at once? Seriously? :( that sucks. Moving is always a pain in the ass, but it is nice to get a fresh start! :)

With 17 medications your estimate is probably very conservative.
My FIL used to say that Doctors practice medicine because they don't have it down yet. Having worked in the medical field for many years...I have to agree.
Hang in there!
