A Conversation Between My Mother and AT&T

Sometime yesterday my grandparent's phone quit working. My mother left them with her cell phone and went home to call SBC (who is now AT&T) to report the outage and request service.
She was directed to an automated system and the conversation went something like this:
AS: Do you have a dial tone on the phone you are reporting as out? Press 1 for yes and 2 for no.
Mom: Press 2
AS: Are you calling from the phone you are reporting as out? Press 1 for yes and 2 for no.
Mom: um?
Press O for Operator.

OMG, I hate AT&T. One time they sent me a preprinted return payment slip, like all bills have. I sent in my payment, but it one was returned to me because they were no longer at the address....on the preprinted slip. Because I was late, they sent my bill to collections. I cancelled that contract pronto.

Sometime these things make no sense when you call in a problem. But Iguess they just try to do an automated process of elimination but sometimes it makes no sense.

That is so funny. While yes, as a matter of fact I am calling from the phone that isn't working....bwahahahahahaha
