The Burn
Thursday night during Baking class I had my hands resting on the edge of a
table and when I leaned in towards the center of a table to watch a
demonstration on rolling cinnamon rolls, my wrist came in contact with a sheet
pan that had just come out of a 450degree oven after about 20-25 minutes baking
a pizza. This burn is now about 70 hours old and it still hurts like crazy. Any
ideas?

I always put butter on burns...but that's as soon as it happens. I don't know if
it will have the same effect 70 hours later though. But if you're in pain, I'd
give it a try...
Good luck!

Butter, ointments and oils are VERY BAD for blisters. So is bandaging them (I'm
only talking about 1st degree burns). Burns need to breathe and all those things
inhibit this process.
The best thing you can do is let it be. If the pain is too severe, you might
want to try a mild topical anesthetic like Dermoplast spray.

Take tylenol for the pain and Sherri is right, let it air. You can get burn
ointments over the counter-ask a pharmacist if it continues to hurt. That looks
pretty painful and not in a good place-we bend our wrists everyday. Ouchies!

OK, from the former EMD, sherri is right.. NO BUTTER!
Place it under running cold water.
You might also need to get it checked out at the doc if there is any chance that
it is infected.

OK, looking at the picture, doesn't look like it would be infected.. try running
cool water (as cold as you can stand) and then cold compresses. I melted my
fingers together once and thats all that worked for me. I just kept it on there
steadily for several hours and the pain finally was bearable.

I wonder why it always worked for me...I had no idea it was so BAD!
