It's A Small World
Well, I went to the dentist back in January. They told me that I had two cavities & that I had two wisdom teeth that I needed to have taken out.
If you remember my "ice pack migraine" that I had for the three days after that dentist appointment, you might understand why I never bothered to go back for them to fix the cavities.
The wisdom teeth thing really took me off guard also. In August 1990, I went to an oral surgeon in Pasadena, Texas. I went home with gauze on all FOUR corners. I went in to have an absessed molar removed from the bottom left side of my mouth. I was told that the other three pieces of gauze were from where they took out the three wisdom teeth that I had. I didn't have one on the same corner as the absessed tooth.
Last week we received an email at work from our receptionist who needed people to help cover the phones for her this past Friday because she was going to have her wisdom teeth taken out. I asked her who her surgeon was and she sent me the link to his office website.
I made an appointment. I went and got my XRays from the Dentist I had gone to in January. I called the oral surgeon from 1990 & my old orthodontist to get my records. I went to see the receptionist's surgeon today.
Flash forward 16 years and I found out that the oral surgeon from 1990 lied to me. The faxed copy of the XRay they had from 1986. I had four visible wisdom teeth at that time and I am only missing three teeth from that original XRay. The top two wisdom teeth & the asbessed tooth. I'm wondering what they did to the opposite bottom corner since I had gauze there but no teeth are missing.
I want to call that old oral surgeon back and ask them to send me the financial records for that surgery. I want to see if they really charged us for the removal of 3 wisdom teeth when they only took out 2. I'm pissed!
As I'm sitting there listening to this new oral surgeon tell me that he suggests that I have both of my wisdom teeth removed, a lightbulb goes off in my head. For the past week the little hamster in my head had been trying to figure out why this surgeon's name sounded so familiar. I asked him... do you have a relative that is a gynocologist in Houston? He said, yeah.. that's my brother.
So, one guy was my mother's gynocologist, the other is my oral surgeon. It's a small world after all.
So, August 25th at 9:10 am I will be having my two bottom wisdom teeth removed (again). They will be putting me alseep and I am supposed to have someone drive me to and from the appointment.
Anyone want to drive me home to TheCountry after the appointment?

I'd follow up with the records from that old surgeon. Sounds fishy to me.
Good luck!
