The Dark Side Of Culinary School

Well, as it turns out.. I picked a good time to take my medical leave of absence from school. A classmate instant messaged me Friday night to ask where I was and if I had heard about the rumors. I explained the medical leave and she completely understood, as she had taken one herself last quarter.
Then I said... well, what rumors have I not heard... and this is what she told me...
Two of the Chef-Instructors Got Fired.
She told me the rumors behind this mind-boggling sentence and needless to say I was quite shocked. I am wondering what they are going to do with the classes those two chefs were teaching. Up until a week ago, I was actually in one of these classes. They barely have enough chefs to teach the classes they offer and most of the chefs work something crazy like 6am - 11pm 4 days a week.
I am not going to divulge the reasons for the firings on my blog in case someone from the school sees it, but lets just say I don't agree with it one bit. There comes a time in this world that once someone hits a certain age, it is nobody's business what they do... kinda like the fact that I'm 31 years old and I have spent most of the day cleaning my apartment for a dumb inspection and that I'm not even allowed to have alcohol in my apartment to make Beer Cheese Soup or Amaretto Cheesecake.
One of the chefs in question has sent out the contact information for the head of human resources for the corporate side of my school and nonchalantly said... "in case you would like to voice your opinions." I am not too sure I would say anything but if I do, I will wait until I have moved out of this apartment and completely away from the school scene.
Like I mentioned here, this school obviously has some problems. During my medical leave and hiatus from school... I can honestly say that I am now thinking about applying to one of the other 14 culinary schools in the Dallas area. I have enough problems of my own, I don't need any more coming in from outside sources.

If it's one of these damn AA schools (you'll have to send me the info), you may
want to switch. It's starting to sound like a SCANDALOUS "school" at which I
worked in Florida called High Tech Institute.

About the same as Four Years at Baylor would cost.
